TrIOS (Germany)

TriOS Mess- und Datentechnik GmbH was founded in 1998 as a spin-off company of the University of Oldenburg by Rüdiger Heuermann. The main office is based in Rastede, Germany. Since 2006 a second office is located in Bremerhaven, Germany.

TriOS is specialized in the development and manufacturing of optical sensors for measuring biological and chemical parameters in seawater, freshwater, drinking water and also waste water applications. Hyperspectral detection and analysis is one of the key techniques used for these sensors. Beside this also fluorescence techniques are used for various sensors. Additionally, data loggers and controller systems are part of the product portfolio.

TriOS has participated in several German or EC funded projects in the last years (RAMSES- a hyperspectral radiometer system, CANDiF - chlorophyll online monitoring sensor using delayed fluorescence technique, Fluorosense - a LIDAR based oil spill detection system, ProPS - hyperspectral process photometer, ProTool-EC7 funded development of primary production sensors). At present, TriOS is coordinating several R&D projects with partners from Germany and participates in the FP7 project Citclops.

Due to the experiences of TriOS as highly innovative development company, TriOS will performance in NeXOS a significant role in the development of new technologies and products. TriOS will participate actively with its skills and experiences in several other work packages.
