IEEE OCEANS 2017 ABERDEEN conference and workshop

NeXOS will be present at the IEEE OCEANS 2017 ABERDEEN, 19th -  22nd June 2017, Aberdeen, Scotland.

The OCEANS conference is the flagship event of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) and the Marine Technology Society (MTS). It features all aspects of oceanic engineering, science and technology. The prestigious OCEANS series of conferences is recognised as the premier forum for the international marine community to meet and discuss topical issues in a format of easy information exchange. OCEANS brings together engineers, scientists, managers and policy makers from all aspects of the oceanic spectrum and features an associated trade exhibition with companies and institutions representing the wide range of activities found in the marine community.

NeXOS project will have a strong presence during this event being one of the lasts D&O activities before the end of the project:

- Sensor and System Innovations for the Oceans of Tomorrow workshop: This workshop is organized by NeXOS in coordination with OoT 2013 projects as part of a workshop series. It will address advances in sensors, platforms interfaces and information systems for a new generation of observation capabilities. It will be a discussion forum looking at current capabilities and to future needs and developments. Presentations from the workshop can be downloaded here.

Plenary Speakers: As at all OCEANS Conferences the opening day is always started off with a Plenary session featuring distinguished speakers form the world of OCEAN science, technology and management. NeXOS Coordinator, Eric Delory will present Emerging solutions for in-situ observation systems, providing an overview of current European R&D projects developing new sensor technologies and focus on an end-to-end approach of the value chain of ocean observation, also addressing proposed transversal innovations to the community. A cross-cutting aspect of the presentation will be the potential and challenges of integrating new developments on current commercial autonomous platforms.

- Posters and presentations: NeXOS partners will be presenting posters and oral presentation during different technical sessions, explaining technical developments with their scientific and economical impacts.
